My third goal on my Brazilian roadtrip: the "Revoada dos Guarás" or "Flight of the Scarlet Ibises" in the Parnaiba Delta.  Every evening, just before sunset, up to 3000 Scarlet Ibises return to the tiny island "Ilha dos Guarás" to spend the night together. Scarlet Ibises have a fantastic  color, a vibrant red, that comes from their diet which consists mainly of  crabs and crustaceans. The Scarlet Ibis loves company and living in big groups. It's quite a show to watch the flocks arrive in V-formations and the trees turn bright red with the innumerable birds.
